The genre of deep house stemmed from generic house, sometime in between the 80s and the 90s, and was characterized by its melodious nature, as it had influences of both jazz and soul, and a slightly acoustic feeling. It is mostly recognized as the slower, more intense dance floor music, as it combines vocals and synth sounds, and has a more sophisticated feel to it. Rather than the out-of-world nature and build-up of house tracks, deep house music lingers on. This genre has gained more popularity in the recent years.

On the other hand, the genre has been evolving as well as seeing an increasing in fan following steadily since its inception in the mid-80s/early 90s.
