Rap music is known as the music of the mind for a number of reasons. It consists of speaking the lyrics in rhyme and verse form, alongside an instrumental and synthesized beat. This style of music also accompanies many other additions like DJing, scratching, sampling, beat boxing simultaneously with rapping.
It was initiated by the African-American and Jamaican youth at Bronx in New York in the 70s. Very soon it gained fame and publicity to become America's rap music and was imitated and improvised by music directors and singers from all over the world. Rap mainly needs beat music and hence can also be recited without music, simply with beat boxers on the roll.
